Emma-Jane is a financial services, insolvency and reconstruction lawyer based in Melbourne. Emma has a senior leadership role in the management of our volume small business claims for our bank and financial services client base.

Emma-Jane also manages complex disputes and corporate and personal insolvency, contentious banking litigation and advisory work.

She has more than 17 years' experience in advising major banks, financial institutions and lenders in relation to personal and corporate insolvency issues, security documents and complex enforcement issues throughout Victoria, as well as in relation to frauds, forgeries and non-lending losses.

Her insolvency experience includes advising insolvency practitioners, creditors, debtors and directors, including in relation to receivership, voluntary administration and liquidation, and providing advice on technical issues including the scope of securities and voidable transactions.

Defending damages claims against Banks for misleading and deceptive conduct, with connected security enforcement claims.

Acting for Banks and financial institutions in contentious banking disputes and complex recovery actions, including both commercial and associated personal lending.

Mortgage fraud

Acting for a Bank regarding a series of mortgage frauds involving fictitious borrowers. The Victorian Police Fraud Squad were involved in this matter, as were many other Banks, financial institutions, insurers and the Registrar of Titles Victoria.
